Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care hospital that strives to offer exceptional care to the Sierra Vista community. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you’ll join a compassionate, collaborative team where empathy and evidence-based care go hand in hand. Our 19-bed behavioral health unit is focused on supporting patients’ mental and emotional well-being, providing a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes healing, dignity, and hope.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Tech who excels in this role: 

• Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities. 
• Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.

What we're looking for

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• License: CNA Preferred
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have within 45 days of hire
• Handle with Care (HWC) Must have within 45 days of hire
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
