Behavioral Health Associate - ECT

Overview

​PURPOSE STATEMENT: 

​Provide basic patient care under the direction of a professional nurse.

Responsibilities

​ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• ​Under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, perform and assist with various tasks related to ECT including basic patient care, direct and indirect diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.  
• ​Provide service to the following age population(s): older adults and adults in a manner that demonstrate understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.  
• ​Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. 

​OTHER FUNCTIONS:  

​Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications

​EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

• ​High school diploma or equivalent along with at least 12 college credits required.  Two or more years’ experience in Human Services Field; OR 
• ​Associate’s Degree with major in human services field and two or more years’ experience in human services field; OR 
• ​Bachelor’s Degree with major in human services field and one year of experience in human services field.  
• ​EMT or paramedic experience preferred. 

​LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:  

• ​ACLS Certification and IV Certification required.  
• ​CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). 
• ​First aid may be required based on state or facility.  May require a valid state driver's license for some facilities.
