Laird Noller Ford is looking for an experienced, driven BDC Manager to lead and grow our Business Development Center.
We are looking for someone with proven automotive BDC experience and a demonstrated track record of results. This is not an entry-level management position. The right candidate understands how to lead a team, manage internet and phone leads, improve appointment-setting and show rates, hold employees accountable, and turn opportunities into showroom traffic and sales.
We want someone who is competitive, organized, great with people, and looking for a company where they can grow beyond their current role.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach, train, and develop the BDC team
Manage inbound and outbound phone, internet, and digital leads
Monitor lead response times, appointment-setting, show rates, sold rates, and overall BDC performance
Establish clear daily, weekly, and monthly goals for the department
Review calls, texts, emails, and CRM activity for quality and consistency
Ensure every lead receives timely and professional follow-up
Develop processes to improve customer engagement and appointment conversion
Work closely with sales managers and the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff from the BDC to the showroom
Hold team members accountable for activity, follow-up, and results
Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting
Track department KPIs and communicate results to leadership
Recruit, train, and develop BDC employees as needed
Help create a positive, competitive, customer-focused culture
What We're Looking For
Previous automotive BDC experience required
BDC management or leadership experience strongly preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance goals
Strong understanding of automotive CRM systems and lead-management processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong phone presence and customer-service skills
Comfortable coaching employees and holding a team accountable
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership systems quickly
Self-motivated and results-driven
Professional, dependable, and able to work effectively with customers and employees at all levels
Desire for continued professional growth and advancement
Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment screening
Physical & Non-Physical Requirements
This position primarily works in an office/dealership environment and requires:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Frequent computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone use
Ability to view computer screens and work across multiple software platforms throughout the workday
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, text, and email
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the dealership
Ability to maintain focus while handling frequent calls, messages, customer interactions, and interruptions
Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to analyze performance reports and identify opportunities for improvement
Ability to remain professional and effective in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
