The Country Club of Spartanburg is seeking dependable and hospitality-focused part-time Banquet Servers to join our team. Our banquet operation hosts a wide variety of Club and private events, including weddings, receptions, golf tournaments, business functions, member events, holiday celebrations, and special dinners.

We are looking for team members who are professional, personable, energetic, and take pride in creating memorable experiences for our members and guests. Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience is preferred, but we are willing to train individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to hospitality.

Position Summary

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing professional food and beverage service during Club events and private functions. This position works closely with fellow banquet team members and Club leadership to ensure events are properly prepared, efficiently executed, and delivered according to the Club's service standards.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position with a flexible event-based schedule
• Primarily evenings and weekends, with occasional daytime events
• Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on the Club's event schedule

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to follow event instructions, banquet event orders, and service standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to remain composed and professional during busy events
• Basic knowledge of food, beverage, and alcohol service preferred

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service to members and guests during Club and private events
• Assist with event setup, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffets, beverage stations, and other event requirements
• Review event details and participate in pre-service meetings
• Serve plated meals, buffets, hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and other food and beverage items according to established service standards
• Maintain appropriate timing and coordination with fellow servers, culinary staff, and event leadership
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout events
• Clear tables and service areas efficiently and discreetly
• Assist with event breakdown, cleanup, and resetting of event spaces
• Properly handle Club equipment, china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other event supplies
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements
• Communicate guest concerns or special requests to event leadership promptly
• Perform additional duties necessary to support successful Club events

Licenses & Certifications

• Food safety certification preferred
• Responsible alcohol service certification preferred
• Must meet applicable legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry trays, tables, chairs, or other items up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive movement
• Ability to safely carry food and beverage trays
• Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced event environment
