Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Band Teacher to join our music faculty. The ideal candidate has a strong background in woodwind performance and instruction, with flute as the primary instrument preferred, and is passionate about inspiring students of different ages and skill levels.
Responsibilities
- Teach beginning and intermediate band classes and/or private lessons.
- Provide high-quality instruction in woodwind instruments, with an emphasis on flute.
- Conduct rehearsals and prepare students for concerts, recitals, and other performances.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that build musicianship, technique, and ensemble skills.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with fellow music instructors and communicate effectively with students and parents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Strong performance background in woodwind instruments; flute major preferred.
- Previous teaching experience with school bands, youth ensembles, or private lessons.
- Ability to teach students with varying levels of experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music education and student development.
