Job Summary
The AWS MWAA Administrator / Engineer with 12+ years is responsible for the design, administration, monitoring, optimization, and support of Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA) environments used for enterprise data integration, data engineering, analytics, and workflow orchestration. The role partners closely with Cloud, Data Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-effective workflow operations across AWS cloud platforms.
The position requires expertise in Apache Airflow, AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, monitoring, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
MWAA Platform Administration
•    Deploy, configure, and administer AWS MWAA environments.
•    Manage Airflow versions, upgrades, patches, and environment lifecycle activities.
•    Configure worker scaling, schedulers, plugins, and environment settings.
•    Manage Airflow connections, variables, pools, and secrets.
•    Perform capacity planning and performance tuning.
Workflow s DAG Operations
•    Support development teams in onboarding and deployment of Airflow DAGs.
•    Troubleshoot DAG failures, scheduling issues, and dependency conflicts.
•    Implement workflow standards, coding best practices, and operational procedures.
•    Manage DAG promotion between Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
•    Optimize workflow execution performance and resource utilization.
AWS Cloud Engineering
•    Integrate Airflow workflows with:
•    Amazon S3
•    AWS Glue
•    AWS Lambda
•    Amazon RDS/PostgreSQL
•    Amazon Redshift
•    Amazon EMR
•    Amazon SNS/SQS
•    AWS Step Functions
•    Amazon EKS/ECS
•    Design secure connectivity patterns using VPCs, subnets, security groups, and IAM roles.
Monitoring s Reliability
•    Monitor MWAA environments using:
•    Amazon CloudWatch
•    CloudWatch Logs
•    CloudWatch Metrics
•    Airflow UI
•    Create operational dashboards and alerting.
•    Perform root-cause analysis of workflow failures.
•    Establish SLAs, operational runbooks, and recovery procedures.
Security s Governance
•    Implement least-privilege IAM policies.
•    Ensure compliance with enterprise security requirements.
•    Manage encryption using AWS KMS.
•    Support audit and compliance initiatives.
•    Secure access to Airflow web interfaces and AWS resources.
DevOps s Automation
•    Build CI/CD pipelines for Airflow DAG deployments.
•    Automate environment provisioning using:
•    Terraform
•    CloudFormation
•    AWS CDK
•    Use Git-based deployment models and release management processes.
•    Develop operational automation for maintenance activities.
Documentation s Operational Support
•    Create architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
•    Maintain support documentation and knowledge articles.
•    Participate in incident response and production support rotations.
•    Provide mentoring and technical guidance to platform and application teams.
