About the Role:Join Karlin Hiura & LaSota as an Attorney specializing in Workers Compensation Defense, where you will play a pivotal role in protecting the interests of our clients. Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in workers' compensation defense cases from initial claim to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
- Attend hearings, and depositions to advocate for clients effectively.
- Analyze case facts and develop strategic defense plans tailored to each case.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active California State Bar license in good standing.
- 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
- Team-oriented mindset with a passion for client advocacy.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and legal education.

With offices throughout the state of California that focus solely on Workers’ Compensation defense, Karlin, Hiura and LaSota (KHL), is a team-oriented law firm that has been in business for over 25 years. KHL works with employers, insurance companies, claims professionals, risk managers and brokers across the state and is one of the best firms for settling cases at deposition, only litigating the cases that need to be tried. Communication with clients is at the heart of everything we do, answering phone calls, emails and other communications quickly, keeping clients up to date on every file. KHL understands that clients are busy, and listens to what the clients need and want, evaluating exposure and communicating that immediately.
Utilizing a customer service-oriented approach, we are also ahead of the curve, having been paperless for nearly 5 years. The attorneys at KHL are a group of intelligent, personable and creative people who know the ins and outs of the WCAB. When everyone works together, great things happen. We look to close cases during all phases of the litigation process which has proven extremely successful in reducing our case count, but we love it. It’s what we do!
