Associate Director, Global Medical Information & Digital Experience

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic, scientifically grounded, and digitally fluent professional to join our Global Medical Information team as an Associate Director, Global Medical Information & Digital Experience. This role will lead the development and optimization of digital experience across Medical Information platforms, Medical Affairs websites, congresses, and other approved digital channels. The Associate Director will also provide strategic and operational support for Medical Information activities across the product lifecycle, helping to ensure that healthcare professionals, patients/caregivers, and other stakeholders receive accurate, balanced, compliant and meaningful scientific information.

As a key member of the Medical Affairs team, this individual will lead digital experience strategy; support Medical Information operations and content; coordinate congress technology and booth experience; and use data insights to continuously improve medical information activities. The role will support products across the lifecycle, including Medical Information contact center activities and execution at scientific congresses. The ideal candidate combines strong scientific acumen and Medical Information experience with demonstrated capability in digital content development, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional project management. This individual is able to flex across strategic and operational priorities in a dynamic, growing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Medical Information

• Provide strategic and operational support for Medical Information activities across the product lifecycle, including launch readiness and evolving information needs.

• Support the oversight and continuous improvement of Medical Information contact center operations, including processes, resources, performance and quality.

• Contribute to the development, review, approval, maintenance, and periodic update of scientific response documents, FAQs, standard response letters, and other Medical Information resources.

• Analyze Medical Information inquiry data and trends to identify content gaps, emerging scientific questions, educational needs, and insights that may inform Medical Affairs strategy and activities.

Digital Experience and Website Development

• Lead the strategy and roadmap for Medical Information digital experiences, including Medical Affairs website, clinical trial website, and congress technology.

• Lead the planning, development, review, approval, deployment, and maintenance of Medical Affairs digital content and website materials in partnership with external agencies and through appropriate Review Committee processes and Veeva PromoMats workflows.

• Ensure global content is scientifically accurate, balanced, relevant for intended audience and adaptable for regional and local use in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and country needs.

• Partner with IS and Data/Analytics to enhance website analytics, inquiry management, congress technology, reporting, dashboards, and interactive capabilities.

• Monitor and interpret website and inquiry data to identify stakeholder needs, content gaps, website performance, and opportunities for improvement.

Congresses and Cross-Functional Support

• Lead congress booth strategy and execution for priority global congresses, including vendor oversight to ensure key deliverables are completed on time.

• Partner cross-functionally with Medical Strategy, Medical Content & Training, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance, Clinical Operations, Commercial, and Corporate Communications to ensure alignment on booth strategy, layout, content, and materials.

• Coordinate the implementation and adaptation of approved booth materials across regions, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and local needs.

• Coordinate the review and approval activities for congress-specific Medical Information materials through the appropriate Review Committee(s) and Veeva PromoMats workflows.

• Ensure approved congress resources are appropriately distributed and maintained within relevant Medical Affairs systems.

• Lead Medical Information support at congresses, including booth staffing, staff readiness, FAQs, inquiry management, and appropriate follow-up of HCP inquiries.

• Provide support for other Medical Information and Medical Affairs initiatives as needed.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

• Advanced degree in scientific or medical discipline; doctoral degree preferred (PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree preferred).

• Proven experience in Medical Affairs (global and/or regional) within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong understanding of scientific content development, review, approval, lifecycle management in a regulated environment.

• Experience developing or managing scientific, clinical trial, or healthcare-related websites and digital content.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving and project management skills.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor and analyze data to inform decision-making.

• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to medical content and safety reporting.

• Proficiency in medical information databases, content management systems and other relevant software tools.

• Experience with Veeva PromoMats.

• Ability to effectively negotiate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

• Self-motivated with ability to make sound decisions and adapt to changing priorities.

• Experience in managing multiple vendors.

• Willingness to travel, approximately 10-20%.

Preferred Skills:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, with demonstrated experience in Medical Information and scientific congress activities.

• Experience in oncology therapeutic area is strongly preferred.

• Experience with digital accessibility standards, search optimization, content tagging, personalization, or modular content.

Base Pay Salary Range$177,000—$221,000 USD
