Our commitment is more than scientific – it’s deeply personal, grounded in the meaningful connections we have built. To learn more, visit www.agios.com and follow Agios on LinkedIn and X.

The impact you will make

Agios is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Forecasting & Performance Analytics to join our growing Commercial Operations & Analytics team. This role leads forecasting and national performance analytics across our marketed and pipeline portfolio, with a particular emphasis on rare and genetically defined diseases. It builds the demand, revenue, and long-range models that anchor planning and the executive and board narrative, and owns the national performance reporting that shows how launches and in-line products are tracking.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can build rigorous, defensible models and translate them into clear recommendations for commercial leadership. The Associate Director partners closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply, and Portfolio Management and supports business development assessments.

What You Will Do

  • Build, maintain, and evolve operational, unit-based forecasts across the portfolio – demand, revenue, and patient-based models – including scenario planning and risk and opportunity assessments for multiple launches and in-line products
  • Develop and manage long-range planning (LRP) forecasts in partnership with Commercial, Finance, and Corporate Strategy, clearly documenting assumptions, risks, and opportunities
  • Select and apply the most appropriate forecasting approach for each question – epidemiology-based, demand-based, or analog-based – and continuously strengthen forecasting best practices, tools, and processes
  • Own national-level commercial performance reporting and analytics, building and maintaining the KPI frameworks, dashboards, and scorecards that track launch and in-line performance for brand, commercial, and executive audiences
  • Surface emerging performance trends, likely drivers, and areas of opportunity by integrating secondary data, field intelligence, competitive signals, and market research
  • Deliver ad hoc forecasting and analytics to support board meetings, earnings calls, and investor discussions
  • Support business development and corporate strategy with market sizing, valuation inputs, and commercial forecasts for pipeline and partnering opportunities
  • Guide the secondary analytics and primary research needed to validate forecast assumptions, model architecture, and patient populations
  • Act as an internal consultant across Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Clinical, Supply, and Regulatory to support cross-functional decision-making
  • Direct third-party forecasting resources to extend capacity while maintaining quality and timelines

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in forecasting, commercial analytics, or performance reporting in the biopharmaceutical industry; bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred
  • Strong forecasting and financial modeling skills, including dynamic Excel models; able to build, present, defend, and maintain operational and long-range forecasts with a high degree of precision
  • Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical secondary data sources (e.g., specialty pharmacy, claims and longitudinal patient, sales, and payer data) and how to apply them to forecasting and performance analytics
  • Experience designing and interpreting KPI frameworks, dashboards, and launch and in-line performance reporting
  • Experience in rare or genetically defined diseases, including in-line and pipeline products, strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting business development or licensing assessments with forecasting and market sizing a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex models into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Well organized, analytical, and a strong strategic thinker; able to challenge assumptions and go beyond the obvious answer
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or offshore analytical resources to deliver on time and within budget

Concerned that you don’t check off every box in the requirements listed above? Please apply anyway! At Agios, we value each other’s differences and recognize that teams thrive when everyone brings their unique experiences to the table. We are dedicated to building an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible environment where all employees can bring their whole selves to work. If you’re excited about this role but your previous experience doesn’t align perfectly with the job description, we still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another opening!

Work Location

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee’s individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate with the above job description.

What we will give you:

  • Deliberate Development. Your professional growth as one of our top priorities.
  • Flexibility. We’re all about individual needs. We embrace different perspectives, work styles, health and wellness approaches, care of families and productivity. When you’re at your best, we’re at our best.
  • Premium benefits package. We invest in the health, well-being, and security of our people with a premium benefits package that is well-rounded and flexible to help meet the varied personal and professional needs of every member of our team. • Competitive and equitable performance-based compensation. This includes base salary and both short- and long-term incentives that are connected to our business strategy and vary based on individual and company performance.
    • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $153,541 and $230,312 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
  • Psychological safety. We support an environment of fearlessness. We want you to share your ideas, speak candidly and take data-informed risks to help push the boundaries.
  • Commitment to diversity. We strive to foster a welcoming workplace where everyone can thrive. We’re continuously looking to improve the inclusivity of our workforce.
  • Commitment to community. We’re an active participant in the communities that surround us – the communities where we live, and the community of people and their loved ones in need of better treatment options for conditions that are often overlooked.
