Job Title: Representative-Bring Out The Books

Job Summary: The Kansas City Royals seek enthusiastic representatives with a passion for Community Impact. Representatives will be on the front lines with our fans at the Bring Out the Books gate. They will facilitate the exchange of children’s books for tickets at home games. Representatives will be interacting with Royal’s fans and must be comfortable greeting/talking/problem solving with our fans. Honesty, dependability, and enthusiasm will be required to excel in this position.

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate and deliver information regarding the Kansas City Royals Bring Out The Books initiative
• Working home games and ensuring our Bring out The Books accurate distribution and reporting
• Follow all policies and procedures as set by the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Royals Foundation
   

Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:

• Must be 18 years of age or older by start date of employment
• Experience handling credit cards in a sales role
• A charismatic personality exuding a positive attitude that demonstrates approach-ability and friendliness
• Enthusiastic and high energy personality
• Team player attitude and desire to work hard to meet group fundraising goals
• Ability to work 60-80 home games, including weekends, nights, and some holidays from March to October
• Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs in an outdoor setting for 2-4+ hours at a time
• Ability to work in outside elements including heat, rain, and cold
• Ability to attend pre-season training sessions
• Must have excellent credit card handling and customer service skills
• Must be comfortable with technology
• Must be comfortable approaching people and selling in front of crowds
• Must understand the timing/pacing of baseball

Physical Requirements:

•            Ability to lift items weighing as much as 15 pounds

•            Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times

•            Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.

•            Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt opportunity that is not eligible for Company Benefits, 401K, and PTO. The schedule for this position is dependent on our team schedule and is subject to change.
