Position Overview & General Responsibilities: 

Sunnyside Retirement Community is on the lookout for passionate, experienced, and motivated Registered Medication Aides (RMAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our dedicated Assisted Living team. • Administer medications safely and in line with all regulations, ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.
• Assist residents with daily activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and dining—always with respect and dignity.
• Document resident care with attention to detail and accuracy, keeping everyone informed and ensuring the best possible care.
• Build genuine relationships with residents, making them feel valued and supported every day.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and home-like environment, where residents feel comfortable and cared for.
• Collaborate with a compassionate team of healthcare professionals, family members, and residents to ensure the highest quality of care.

Requirements

• Must have active Medication Aide Licensure & CNA licensure through the Virginia Board of Nursing /or DCA Certificate
• Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its’ integrity.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and having good organizational skills.
• Ability to work in stressful environment and deal with medical emergency situations.
• Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals.

Physical and Environment Considerations:

Normal lighting levels (except 11pm-7am shift where light is low in residents’ rooms), comfortable temperature ranges, good air quality and ventilation and low noise levels. Lifts, carries, pushes or otherwise manipulates residents, equipment and materials weighing up to 60lbs. Always use proper lifting and moving protocols and techniques. Exposure to body fluids and other infectious drainage. Minimal hazards if universal precautions and other infection control practices are employed.
