Assistant/Associate Professor - Nursing

Job DetailsJob Location: Midland University - Fremont, NE 68025Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing (Mental Health Instructor) - School of Nursing Midland University, a private liberal-arts college in Fremont, Nebraska, (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an exceptional nursing faculty member with expertise in mental health for a full-time position in the School of Nursing beginning August 2027.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
● Teaching course and clinical content to include didactic, clinical and simulation
● Creating engaging and innovative learning experiences that foster clinical judgment, critical thinking, professional development, and the application of evidence-based nursing practice
● Mentoring students to promote academic success and professional growth
● Participation in student recruitment and retention efforts
● Outcome assessment and data collection to ensure continuous improvement and to meet regulator and accreditation requirements
● Serving on departmental and university committees that support the Mission of Midland University and the School of Nursing
● Supporting accreditation, regulatory, and State Board requirements and initiatives
QualificationsQualifications:
● Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility and ability to obtain Nebraska licensure by endorsement
● Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), doctoral degree preferred
● Minimum of 2 years’ professional nursing experience, preferably in mental health/psychiatric nursing.
● Ability to meet clinical agency requirements, such as a background check, abuse check, drug testing, CPR, immunizations, health care insurance, and etc.
● Passion for preparing nursing professionals with the knowledge and skills to enter the health care marketplace.
● Ability to create relevant learning opportunities in the class and clinical setting that meet professional expectations and standards.
● Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
● Previous teaching experience in nursing education.
● Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management System that facilitates face to face, hybrid, and online teaching modalities.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
● The ability to foster a positive work culture that encourages change and innovation.
● The ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
