About The Role

Join the Limestone Coast Local Health Network as an Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery (AIN/M) at Penola Multi-Purpose Service, supporting Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of person-centred care to patients, clients and residents.

Working under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will assist with routine care and activities of daily living, undertake basic nursing duties within your scope of practice, and provide technical support such as preparing for nursing procedures, cleaning equipment and managing local stock.

You will contribute to a safe, supportive healthcare environment while developing your nursing skills and experience.

You communicate effectively, work well within a multidisciplinary team and understand the importance of confidentiality and working within your scope of practice while developing your nursing knowledge, skills and experience.

To succeed in the Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery role, you will:

• Be undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses and have completed any training required by the employer relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level.
• Have experience, within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, in providing nursing/midwifery care in a healthcare setting in accordance with appropriate standards of practice.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to provide person-centred care and maintain confidentiality.
• Understand the role of the Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery within the healthcare setting and relevant legislation, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.

About Penola Multi-Purpose Service

Penola Multi-Purpose Service provides health and aged care services to the Penola community, with staff working collaboratively to support the health, wellbeing and care needs of patients, clients and residents.

As an Assistant in Nursing/Midwifery, you will work as part of the nursing and multidisciplinary healthcare team, contributing to person-centred care and a physically and culturally safe environment for patients, residents and staff.

Conditions of Employment

• A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
• DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
• Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances).
• SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy
