North Shore CDJR is a brand-new, state-of-the-art dealership opening October 1, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We're looking for a detail-driven, motivated Assistant Controller to help build and support our Accounting Department from the ground up.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dealership accounting professional or a strong Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager ready to take the next step into leadership.

You'll work closely with the Controller and dealership leadership to establish processes, maintain financial accuracy, strengthen controls, and help build a high-performing accounting operation from day one.

How You'll Make an Impact

Assist the Controller with the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis.
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, and other accounting functions.
Review deal-related accounting and vehicle inventory transactions for accuracy.
Assist with floorplan accounting, reconciliations, and inventory reporting.
Identify discrepancies and research issues to resolution.
Help maintain strong internal controls and consistent accounting procedures.
Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance requirements.
Partner with dealership departments to ensure transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Support the Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Help train, coach, and support Accounting Department team members.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
Step in as a key resource for the Accounting Department when the Controller is unavailable.
Represent The Hanania Way through accuracy, accountability, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications: What Sets You Apart

We're looking for someone who is analytical, dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to grow.

Previous automotive dealership accounting experience strongly preferred.
Experience with dealership financial statements and accounting processes.
Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close.
Experience with dealership management systems and accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and develop others.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and hair follicle drug screening.
