Assistant Coach - Club Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (part-time/temporary)

General Summary of Position:

This part-time position will help the Head Coach and First Assistant Coach oversee all aspects of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program training. The coaches will work with team captains to facilitate practice plans and teach drills. They will teach strategy, attend designated practices including Saturdays, competitions, and the coach will help manage team dynamics. The coach will also work with the club’s executive board, who oversee all scheduling and fundraising efforts. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Club Sports and indirectly to all Campus Recreation professional staff members and sport club officers. The Club Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team falls under Campus Recreation and is not associated with Athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide skill development for college students and cater to a variety of skill levels
• To organize safe and appropriate sport sessions
• To supervise/mentor/guide the participating members of each club
• Attend all team practices and games
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in coaching or participating in specific sport
• Flexible, availability and high level of responsibility
• High school diploma or GED/equivalent

This is a part-time, temporary, non-unit, non-benefited position.  Anticipate 4 to 6 Hours Per Week.
