IT Asset Management Technician

Overview

The Entry-Level ITAM Depot & Logistics Technician supports the inventory management, maintenance, repair, warehousing, delivery, and tracking of IT endpoint devices, including laptops, desktops, thin clients, tablets, mobile phones, and peripherals. This role involves basic PC troubleshooting and repair, asset tracking, imaging and configuration of devices, and supporting warehouse logistics operations.

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in:
  • IT inventory management
  • PC repair and troubleshooting
  • Device imaging and deployment
  • Mobile device setup and support
  • Endpoint device support
• Experience working with ServiceNow (Asset Tracking)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, record, and distribute incoming and outgoing IT equipment and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records using ServiceNow and other inventory management tools.
• Conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Support hardware movement, storage, and logistics activities.
• Follow IT asset management, security, tagging, and disposal procedures.
• Perform basic repairs on endpoint devices, including battery, keyboard, screen, and hard drive replacements.
• Assist with vendor warranty and repair coordination.
• Unbox, asset tag, image, configure, test, and repackage laptops and desktops.
• Record serial numbers and asset information for tracking and inventory systems.
• Connect hardware to networks and KVM devices for imaging and deployment activities.
• Install software and verify compliance with security and hardware standards.
• Configure multiple devices simultaneously in a production environment.
• Provide status updates on imaging and deployment assignments.
• Support warehouse inventory control and equipment shipments.
• Participate in equipment delivery activities and operate company vehicles when needed.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and peripherals.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting and repair knowledge.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar asset management platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with end users, vendors, and team members.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions

• Warehouse and depot environment.
• Use of warehouse equipment including manual pallet jacks.
• Frequent lifting and movement of IT equipment up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.

Position Summary

Seeking an IT Asset Technician with experience in ServiceNow, IT inventory management, PC repair, device imaging, and basic IT troubleshooting. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a warehouse and logistics environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Skokie, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
