About the Role:Because We Care II Inc is looking for a passionate and dedicated ASAM Group Facilitator to join our team in Norfolk, VA. In this impactful role, you'll guide individuals through structured group sessions as part of a comprehensive substance use treatment program. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate evidence-based group therapy and psychoeducational sessions aligned with ASAM criteria
- Assess client progress and document session notes, treatment updates, and behavioral observations
- Develop and implement individualized and group treatment plans in accordance with ASAM levels of care
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured group environment conducive to recovery
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and outside agencies to coordinate client care
- Monitor client compliance with program requirements and report concerns to supervisory staff
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed
Requirements:
- Experience facilitating substance use disorder (SUD) or behavioral health group sessions
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria and levels of care for substance use treatment
- Active licensure or certification in counseling, social work, or a related field (CSAC, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent preferred)
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport with clients in recovery
- Must pass required background checks in compliance with Virginia state regulations
