Architectural Sales Representative

Job Summary

The Architectural Sales Representative works closely with architectural professionals advising on the design and specification of door openings. This is accomplished through Openings Studio, our award-winning building information modeling (BIM) software used to specify electronic and mechanical access control and hardware. In this role, you can picture yourself as a vital team player to the architect and design team. You will be given the freedom to navigate your path to achieve success in the market. Your goal will be to drive positive, sustaining relationships with key influencers and to create brand demand through educating, facilitating, and promoting ASSA ABLOY solutions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Prospecting & Business Development 50%

• Cultivate strategic relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
• Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
• Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.

Consulting & Problem Solving 25%

• Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.  
• Serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education and specifications
• Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.

Project Tracking & Technical Support (Spec Writing) 25%

• Responsible for architectural development, project tracking and ultimately gaining approval for our internal team of writers to prepare door and hardware specification documents.
• Provide timely and accurate product information for use in project specifications.
• Work alongside a committed team of professionals who are focused on providing specification support and services to many of the top architectural firms in the country.
• Serve as point of contact for client satisfaction and technical support needs.
• Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool.

Education and Experience Profile

College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as architectural design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.

• At least 2-3 years’ industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.

• Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.

• You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.

Work Environment:

You will be joining the Americas Residential Electronics team within ASSA ABLOY located in a remote work capacity with approximately 40% of travel required.
