Make an Impact Beyond the Workout

Mountain Park HOA is looking for an Aquatic Fitness Instructor who enjoys helping people stay active, strong, mobile, and confident through water-based exercise.

Mountain Park is not a commercial gym or high-volume fitness studio. We are a residential community in Lake Oswego with our own recreation, fitness, and aquatic facilities. Our instructors see familiar faces each week and create a place where members of different ages and abilities feel comfortable moving and succeeding.

Classes are one hour, but for water-based classes taught in deep water, we pay for 1.5 hours for each scheduled class to include setup and teardown time. Starting at $25 per hour, that means at least $37.50 in paid time per class. Scheduling is flexible based on your availability and our programming needs.

We're currently looking for staff for a 7:15 AM deep-water class either on Wednesday or Thursday. This class comes with a dedicated group of students eager to return to the water!

What You Will Lead

You will plan and lead safe, engaging group water exercise classes that use the natural resistance of the water to help participants improve their fitness and well-being.

Guide appropriate warm-ups, cardiovascular conditioning, strength work, balance, flexibility, and cool-downs.
Demonstrate proper technique and offer modifications or progressions for different fitness and mobility levels.
Use aquatic equipment such as buoys, noodles, and resistance tools safely and effectively.
Create an inclusive class environment where participants feel encouraged, supported, and successful.
Monitor participants and reinforce safe movement and pool practices.
Arrive with a prepared class plan and music, then set up and store equipment before and after class.

Qualifications: What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a dependable, encouraging instructor who can combine safe coaching with a genuine ability to connect with people.

Current aquatic fitness or water exercise certification from a recognized organization, such as the Aquatic Exercise Association, or an equivalent credential.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Group aquatic fitness instruction experience preferred.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to demonstrate and safely lead water-based exercise movements.
Experience with seniors, beginners, or rehabilitation-focused populations is a plus.
