WORK LOCATION: Midland, MI

Overview

• Performs theoretical and experimental scientific and technological investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge.
• May conduct analytical, experimental, investigative and other fact-finding work to support principal scientific research.
• Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results, including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.
• Identifies, assesses and develops new scientific concepts/technologies in basic or applied research with significant business impact.
• Documents research leading to patent disclosure or technical and/or scientific advancement.

• Senior technical professional with high competency in a focus area or application, driving value-creating solutions for customers and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline and advanced knowledge of other disciplines
• Builds broader understanding of the company’s business portfolio and supporting technologies.
• May be called upon as a technical consultant or for very complex assignments
• Learns and applies innovative methods, tools and technology beyond area of expertise.
• Leads technical projects or programs through development and/or implementation.
• Helps mentor employees within focus technical area.
• Is seen as a trusted business partner with a proven track record of demonstrated success.
• Solves diverse and challenging problems that arise from changing priorities or new situations.
• Assembles and leads teams to solve complex business problems.
• Fosters creativity and innovation, encouraging others to explore and share new ideas and solutions to problems.
• Experience with semiconductor packaging materials & strategies is a plus

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
