OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE: Annual Giving Student Intern

LOCATION: Minneapolis/St. Paul Campus

PAY RATE: $17.50/hour

HOURS: TBD

JOB SUMMARY:

Incentive fulfillment: In an effort to activate long-lapsed and future donors, the Annual Giving Office may offer targeted incentives for first-time gifts. The student intern will need to track these gifts, create spreadsheets and mailing labels, order mailing supplies and fulfill orders (Engagement Center students will help with order fulfillment after Tommie Give Day influx of gifts). You will work closely with the Annual Giving staff and be capable of working independently and accurately. 

Senior Class Gift: You will be responsible for assisting with the Senior Class Gift project with the help of the Student Philanthropy Project. This includes building a page on GiveCampus, appealing to seniors to raise money, and brainstorming ideas to get more students involved. 

Student Philanthropy Project : You will be asked to assist other Annual Giving Students in our Student Philanthropy Project with event logistics, tabling, and content creation around Tommie Give Day and other Annual Giving events. 

Tommie Give Day: On Tommie Give Day, you will be asked to help with all aspects of Tommie Give Day, as needed (and as your school schedule allows). This may include: setting up a tent, handing out donuts, responding to text messages from donors, and running TGD errands. 

Crowdfunding (to be led by one of the two interns): You will be working with the Annual Giving Team to help manage our crowdfunding campaigns in GiveCampus. You will learn to use the GiveCampus website, meet with clubs, help build giving pages, and help maintain organized email communication with the Annual Giving team and the clubs we are working with. 

Additional Tasks: Assist with Annual Giving operations, inventory, ordering materials when needed, and other tasks as requested.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Proficient in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel  

• Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint  

• Proficient in Canva  

• Can work with multiple campus partners: i.e. Annual Giving Team, Engagement Center Team, Print Shop, Gift Processing and Mail Room

This position will have a dedicated desk space on the Minneapolis campus and report to the Director of Annual Giving. The role requires regular work on the Minneapolis campus, with some work on the St. Paul campus. Event support will also be needed on both campuses throughout the academic year.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
