About ANIME Impulse ANIME Impulse is one of North America’s most vibrant pop culture festivals, celebrating the best of anime, gaming, cosplay, and digital creators. As part of the IMPULSE Universe family of live experiences (including K-PLAY! FEST and Collectors Expo), we create high-velocity events and brand activations that extend fandom far beyond the convention floor.

The Role Are you passionate about translating anime and gaming culture into eye-catching visuals, bold branding, and iconic graphic assets? We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to help support in shaping the visual identity of our upcoming live events and digital campaigns. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with our creative team to design social media graphics, event signage, merch concepts, and promotional assets that captivate our community.

What You’ll Do

• Social & Marketing Graphics: Create high-impact promotional graphics, web banners, and social content for Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, and other visual media campaigns.
• Event & Environmental Design: Assist in designing physical event assets, including sample badges, step-and-repeats, stage backdrops, directional signage, and printed event guides.
• Merchandise & Branding: Brainstorm and execute designs for festival merchandise, sticker packs, apparel concepts, and partner activation visuals.
• Asset Management: Organize, re-format, and prep graphic files for print production and digital delivery across various media formats.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all visual elements align with ANIME Impulse’s energetic brand identity and aesthetic standards.

Who You Are

• Fandom & Design Savvy: Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a deep appreciation for anime, gaming, and Asian pop culture visual aesthetics.
• Strong Visual Eye: Solid understanding of typography, visual hierarchy, composition, and color theory tailored to youth and fan culture.
• Organized & Adaptive: Able to manage multiple design tasks under tight event deadlines, accept constructive feedback, and iterate quickly.

Bonus Points

• Motion graphics or animation skills (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, or GIF creation).
• Basic understanding of print prepress, CMYK workflows, and bleed setups for physical production.
• A portfolio showcasing anime-style key visuals, esports graphics, or pop-culture event marketing.
