The associate is responsible for maintaining academic and research computer labs, including hardware repairs, software configuration, and inventory tracking. They also serve as a technical liaison for faculty and provide support through a ticketing system.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining computers in academic labs, primarily in the sciences
- Handling customer technical support cases through the ticketing system (Footprints)
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Replacing or repairing the necessary parts
- Serve as liaison between AIT and Faculty primarily in Meyer
- Provide technical assistance with computer hardware and software
- Keeping track of the computer inventory in academic labs and research labs
- Keeping equipment area neat and clean.
- Replace computers as needed
- Learning how to keep applications installed and configured correctly.
- Learn and demonstrate best practices for creating documentation.
- Help with various to-do’s and office tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Aptitude for using computer technology in computer labs and scientific research.
- Ability to write documentation for hardware and software procedures.
- Excellent writing, verbal and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable with web conference technology (O365, Teams, etc.).
- Being able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Science majors
- Experience installing and configuring computer hardware
Pay Range: $15-$16/hour
