Aide

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: 728-Sacred Heart School - Rockport, TX, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rockport, Texas, is actively seeking an Instructional Aide for the classroom. The primary responsibilities of the Instructional Aide are to assist the Lead Teacher by working with students to establish and maintain a harmonious learning environment. 

Ministerial Character:

The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him.  In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community.  In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people.  He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities.  Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

Responsibilities:

As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
Support teacher in classroom instruction, transitions, and during elective classes
Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of children at all times
Participate in staff meetings and meet campus expectations
Perform other duties as assigned

Mental/Physical Demands:

Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more
Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, and balancing
Ability to maintain composure under duress

Qualifications: Qualifications:

High school diploma or the equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)
Preferred experience/training to perform the task assigned by the principal (Experience may include: day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar experience)
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with diocesan policies and procedures
Valid Texas driver’s license 
Must be 21 years of age or older

Additional Requirements:

Must submit to required pre-employment screening including criminal history background check, motor vehicle check record check (MVR), and drug screening
Complete certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources 
Requires adherence to all diocesan policies and procedures

Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
General use of computer hardware and basic office software including Google Workspace
