The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience with conversational AI, virtual agents, LLMs, APIs, integrations, and software engineering and be capable of learning the Cognigy platform quickly.

Experience with platforms such as Dialogflow, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Amazon Lex, Google CCAI, Kore.ai, IBM Watson, Yellow.ai, Voiceflow, or similar conversational AI platforms would be considered relevant transferable experience.

The successful candidate will have strong AI engineering and integration fundamentals and the ability to quickly learn and apply those skills within the Cognigy platform.

Conversational AI & Automation

• Experience designing and developing conversational AI, chatbots, virtual agents, or voice assistants
• Understanding of conversational flows, dialogue management, intents, and business logic
• Experience working with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Prompt engineering and LLM configuration
• Understanding of AI response validation, guardrails, fallback logic, and escalation
• Experience optimizing AI interactions based on performance and user feedback
• Understanding of voice AI, speech recognition, and text-to-speech is a plus

Programming & Software Engineering

• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript or comparable programming experience
• Python experience preferred
• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals
• Ability to develop and consume REST APIs
• Experience working with JSON, webhooks, and event-driven integrations
• Experience with Git/GitHub or similar source-control platforms
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work within established development standards and frameworks

API & Systems Integration

• Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, webhooks, and data exchange
• Experience integrating CRM, ERP, databases, or other backend applications
• Experience working with third-party SaaS platforms
• Understanding of OAuth, API keys, tokens, and other authentication mechanisms
• Experience integrating AI solutions into existing technology ecosystems

AI / LLM Technologies

• Experience working with one or more LLM platforms
• OpenAI / Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or similar experience
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM behavior
• Experience with RAG / knowledge retrieval is preferred
• Understanding of embeddings and vector databases is a plus
• Experience implementing AI agents or agentic workflows is a plus
• Understanding of AI safety, security, privacy, and governance

Cloud & Technical Environment

• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Understanding of cloud-based application architecture
• Familiarity with Docker/containerized applications
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts
• Experience working across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and application troubleshooting

Testing & Quality

• Experience creating and executing test cases for software or AI applications
• Conversational AI testing and validation
• API and integration testing
• Regression testing
• Performance and reliability testing
• Ability to identify root causes and resolve technical defects
• Experience analyzing AI/conversation performance and identifying opportunities for improvement

Agile & Delivery

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Experience with Jira or similar project management tools
• Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Experience working from user stories and acceptance criteria
• Ability to estimate development effort
• Strong documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with Architects, PMs, Product Owners, and client stakeholders

CCaaS / Contact Center Experience – NICE TO HAVE NOT NEEDED

• Understanding of contact center technologies and customer experience platforms
• Experience with IVR, chat, messaging, or digital customer engagement
• Knowledge of platforms such as Five9, NICE CXone, Genesys, Amazon Connect, or similar is preferred
• Understanding of call routing, queues, skills, transfers, dispositions, and agent escalation
• Experience integrating AI with contact center environments is highly desirable
