Role at a Glance:

• Compensation: $15.00 -$17.00 per hour

• Schedule: 2:30PM – 6:00PM, Monday-Friday
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Degree or equivalent

About the Position:

Counselors, along with their co-counselors will be assigned daily to a group of 15-18 children based by grade, Kindergarten-5th grade. This is a part-time, hourly position. Counselors will manage the daily routine and activities for their group and are responsible for building relationships with and engaging children in their care. Counselors will also help with transportation from schools, which may include driving a 15-passenger van. Working hours are 2:30pm-6:00pm, with the option of a 5-day per week (Monday-Friday) schedule, or a 3-day per week (choose from any 3 weekdays) schedule.

Skills Required:

Enthusiasm, patience, time management, a great sense of humor, attention to detail, strong work ethic, positivity, and excellent communication! Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required! We strive to help both you and our children in the community grow.

Compensation and Benefits 

• We’ll pay you an hourly salary of $15.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Schedule 

2:30–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Essential Functions:

• Picking-up children from local elementary schools (vehicle transportation provided).
• Managing the daily routine and activities for the assigned group.
• Accountability for children’s emotional needs, health, and safety.
• Implementing group activities, crafts, and projects.
• Maintaining accurate rosters of children in group.
• Following emergency management and safety policies.
• Encouraging and modeling respect for personal space, equipment, and facilities. 
• Ability to drive a 15-passenger van to transport children (strongly preferred)

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess enthusiasm, patience, a great sense of humor, a strong work ethic, positivity, and the ability to work well on a team and with children.
• Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check).
