Job Description

About NAES

At NAES, you’ll find engaging and challenging career opportunities across conventional power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, grid operations and complex industrial facilities. At every level of the company, our people share a common goal: to instill confidence in our clients through a steadfast commitment to safety, integrity, and the quality of our work.

NAES is largest independent operator of power facilities in the industry, managing more than 400 facilities and over 60 GW of generation under contract across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the UK. Powered by a team of roughly 4,000 people, we now support the full life cycle of energy and industrial plants — from development and construction through operations, optimization, digital transformation and decommissioning — giving our employees the opportunity to grow their careers while helping to modernize the critical infrastructure that keeps communities running.

Summary

The Aero GT Program Manager will oversee the entire spectrum of operations related to the aeroderivative fleet operations/maintenance and development projects, reporting into the Engineered Performance Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This program manager role involves strategic leadership in managing, maintaining, and improving the reliability, program management, vendor relationships and commissioning of aeroderivative gas turbines. The Program Manager will ensure all facilities operate in compliance with safety, environmental, and industry standards while leading a team of engineers, technicians, and project management staff.

Primary Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the overall strategy for aero fleet operations, including long-term planning for capacity, reliability, repairability, technology, and infrastructure investments.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of program assets.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all aeroderivative projects (greenfield and existing operations) ensuring optimal performance and energy production.
    • Manage maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities for aeroderivative equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and extending the life of assets.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
    • Develop and manage the annual budget for fleet programs, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and timely deliveries for equipment in supply partner facilities.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and project management staff.
    • Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with other departments/SBU’s, including finance, energy services, engineering, asset solutions and advisory services.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for aeroderivative programs for external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, suppliers, and key customers.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks to fleet aero operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Ensure that all contingency plans are in place and regularly updated for emergency situations.
  • Innovation and Technology:
    • Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in power generation and MRO.
    • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Working Relationships

The position will work across SBU’s and will report to SBU Vice President.

Compensation

The initial compensation is $152,200 - $175,100

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in power generation, with 3 years in a senior leadership role preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale/global power generation facilities, projects and MRO operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the power generation industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and across different functions.
  • Experience with budget management and financial planning in a complex operational environment.
  • Licenses/Certification-Any Licenses or Certifications needed to perform the position.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with General Electric LM2500, TM2500, LM6000, PW FT4 and FT8 gas turbines and associated generators.
