Advocate

Status: Part Time Hourly       

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $24.50

Schedule: Flexible Hours; non-traditional hours, may include evenings and weekends

Summary of the Position:  Hourly, part-time positions serving youth and families throughout Hartford, New Haven, and Fairfield County are available.

• Serve as a dependable, committed professional and positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
• Initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services for assigned participants and their families.
• Build positive relationships with youth and families while providing guidance, support, and encouragement.
• Assist participants in identifying strengths, setting goals, and accessing community resources.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to support participant success.
• Support violence prevention efforts through mentoring, relationship-building, conflict resolution, and positive youth engagement.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services provided.   

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage, and activity reimbursement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and in a community-based program 
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an electronic health record system is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) is preferred.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
• Flexible Hours may include some evenings and weekends
