Adventure Facilitators

Are you looking for an opportunity to do meaningful work, support an important mission, and get hands-on experience working with an iconic brand? Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP), a top ten Girl Scout Council in the country, is looking for Adventure Facilitator to join the Mission Delivery team. Specifically running activities at camp properties located in Schuylkill County (Camp Wood Haven), Carbon (Camp Mosey Wood), Montgomery (Camp Laughing Waters and Camp Valley Forge), Leigh (Camp Mountain House), and Philadelphia (Camp Shelly Ridge) Counties.

 Help us build girls with serious COURAGE, confidence, & character by leading activities at our camps. The Adventure Facilitator will serve as a hands on leader maintaining safety standards and guiding participants through activities. Training and certification available.

Types of Facilitator Roles:

• Archery (Level 1 USArchery certification)
• Lifeguard (lifeguard certification with waterfront module)
• Low challenge course (low ropes certification provided by GSEP)
• Climbing wall (belay certification)
• High challenge course (high rope certification provided by GSEP)

Responsibilities for Facilitators

• Acting as a liaison between the site and Program Manager to ensure the programming needs are met.
• Making judgment calls on when it becomes unsafe for the program to continue. (i.e. weather condition, equipment conditions)

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age, preferred 18 years and older 
• Must enjoy working with children
• Must have access to own transportation
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds
• Ability to maintain physical abilities necessary for the job

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to creatively deliver Girl Scout programming
• Ability to work with girls of diverse populations
• Help maintain the safety of all participants

Hours of Work:

• Casual, hourly position
• Hours may vary 8am-7pm and will include weekends
• Expected to work at least two weekends a month during April, May, September, and October
