Advanced Practice Provider Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Psychiatry/Mental Health Perinatal Mood Disorders Clinic

This full-time virtual outpatient position offers an experienced therapist the opportunity to focus exclusively on perinatal mental health within a growing specialty clinic. As the second therapist on an established interdisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based psychotherapy, develop an independent caseload, and expand access to care for patients across Virginia. The selected provider must reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Role

As an therapist in the Perinatal Mood Disorders Clinic, you will provide specialized therapy to antepartum and postpartum patients experiencing mood, anxiety, and psychosocial concerns. You will support patients through a significant life transition while practicing within a focused clinical environment rather than managing a broad general behavioral health caseload.

This is a fast-paced, high-demand ambulatory practice for a clinician who is organized, self-directed, and energized by meaningful work. Through virtual care, you will help reduce barriers that may include transportation, childcare, and limited access to specialty mental health services.

Your work will include:

• Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions through a virtual care platform.
• Building and maintaining a consistent, efficient outpatient caseload.
• Assessing patients’ behavioral health and psychosocial needs during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
• Developing individualized treatment approaches responsive to each patient’s clinical needs, resources, and life circumstances.
• Collaborating closely with a dedicated specialty team that includes another therapist, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and a psychiatrist.
• Supporting patients who may have significant psychosocial needs or limited resources.
• Maintaining an organized clinical schedule while providing thoughtful, patient-centered care.
• Contributing to the continued growth and sustainability of a specialized maternal mental health service.

An average day combines scheduled virtual therapy visits, documentation, care coordination, and interdisciplinary consultation. You will have the autonomy to manage your practice while remaining connected to colleagues who share a commitment to perinatal mental health.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required

Experience: 3 years’ experience post master’s required.

Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail, hear, speak, see, distinguish colors, read, ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $63,939.20 - $102,294.40 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
