Admitting Clerk

About the Position:

The Admitting Clerk plays a key frontline role in delivering a positive patient experience by managing the registration and admission process with efficiency, accuracy, and compassion. This position is responsible for operating the hospital switchboard, handling patient registration and data collection, verifying insurance, assigning rooms, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, families, clinical teams, and support departments. The Admitting Clerk also manages inbound and outbound calls, pages staff for routine and emergency notifications, and provides timely support to patients and visitors.

Education:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Basic typing and data entry skills.
• General clerical and administrative support skills.

Preferred: 

• Some coursework or training from a junior college or vocational school preferred
• Experience using automated or electronic systems preferred.

This posting is for a Casual work status, which means that you will be scheduled only when needed and there are no set hours. Casual employees are not eligible for employee insurance benefits.

Admitting Clerk is 24/7. Casual hours may include every other weekend, day, afternoon, and possibly over night.
This is a casual position which means scheduled as needed.
