Administrative Assistant

Description

St. Peter Catholic Church, in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, MO, is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will provide a cordial atmosphere for parish staff, school parents, and parishioners; bring applicable knowledge and skills; and foster a positive team morale. This position is part-time and reports to the pastor.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with pastor's schedule management
• Process bulk mailings both sending and receiving
• Cover front office, which includes answering phones, greeting visitors, making copies and other basic office duties
• Create documents for handouts, Mass aids, and other parish needs
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva or similar software platforms is preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with confidence
• Handle records and sensitive issues with confidentiality, empathy, and compassion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Three of experience in a professional setting
• Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry
