Job Description
TITLE: Adjunct Welding Instructor
REPORTS TO: Dean of Career and Technical Education
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach welding courses for NMJC students;
- Present welding demonstrations to groups and individuals as needed;
- Monitor and maintain NMJC welding labs, equipment, and classrooms to ensure that they are safe, operational and sufficient to meet the needs of the students and college; administer and evaluate student assignments via face-to-face and online environments;
- Ensure student compliance with NMJC and OSHA safety policies and regulations for the welding program;
- Be willing to take part in both welding and instructor training as needed;
- Follow NMJC policies and procedures as published by the Faculty Handbook, college catalog, and current contract;
- Accept other duties as assigned by the Dean or program supervisor
- May serve on various campus committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a competent level of knowledge and expertise in the general Welding field necessary to instruct welding classes, as determined by the institution.
- Must be able to interact with students, instructors, and supervisors in a mature, professional manner.
- Must be honest, prompt, and dependable.
Salary is based on the NMJC part-time faculty salary schedule.
