Position Summary
Temple University’s College of Engineering is seeking qualified instructors to join its Adjunct Faculty Pool to teach ENGT 4196 – Capstone to undergraduate engineering technology students.
ENGT 4196 is a required course for engineering majors, and adjunct teaching opportunities may be available each semester beginning Spring 2027.
The successful candidate will provide design guidance and hands-on technical support to senior Engineering Technology (ET) and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) students as they develop and complete their capstone projects in the College of Engineering’s machine workshop.
Responsibilities

Provide hands-on design and technical support to senior ET/MET students in the machine workshop.

Guide students through the development, fabrication, testing, and refinement of capstone projects.

Support approximately 15–20 students per semester, depending on enrollment and project needs.

Provide instruction and mentorship in technical design, machining, CAD, and related engineering technologies.

Promote safe and effective use of workshop equipment and tools.

Collaborate with the Capstone Lead Instructor and workshop staff as needed to support student learning and successful project completion.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required, or
-
A minimum of 20 years of relevant workshop experience.
Required Skills:
-
Experience operating manual milling machines and lathes.
-
CAD experience.
-
Proficiency with SolidWorks.
-
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
-
Programming experience.
-
Technical design experience.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time adjunct position, averaging approximately 12 hours per week, depending on the number of students and capstone projects.
