Active Aging Group Fitness Instructor

JOB SUMMARY

Elevation Health is currently seeking a skilled group exercise instructor to join our team and work with the vibrant community of active seniors. We are in search of an individual who can deliver group exercise classes that are not only safe and effective but also enjoyable. It is crucial that our instructor aligns with the objectives and policies set by Elevation Health. In addition, we require someone who can provide exceptional leadership, offer cutting-edge instruction, and ignite high levels of motivation in class participants. Whether it's total body conditioning, circuit training, or similar formats, our ideal candidate will be well-versed and proficient. 

Desired Classes: Aqua Fitness, Mobility, Balance, Strength, Dance, Pilates and Yoga

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Teach agreed-upon classes each week (on-site)

• Deliver safe, engaging, and progressive exercise classes

• Prepare and plan class programming or choreography where applicable

• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with class participants by delivering excellent customer service

• Monitor class participants and provide assistance in correcting ineffective or incorrect techniques when observed or asked

• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly exercise room and equipment

• Set up and clean up equipment used for class

• Use the Elevation portal to manage & check in all participants for classes.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Emergency protocols

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience teaching senior exercise classes

• Must have and maintain current CPR/AED certification

• Must have experience teaching group exercise classes

• Ability to modify exercise programs to meet the needs of the participants

• Must be outgoing, energetic, able to perform in front of an audience and possess the ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $50 - $65 per class dependant on class type, experience and certifications

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Weekend availability

• All Classes 50 minutes in length

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification Required

• Group Exercise Instructor certification or the equivalent thereof
