We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in Islip, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in accounting and finance while gaining hands-on experience in customer accounts, payment processing, account reconciliations, and relationship management.

What You'll Do

• Post and apply customer payments accurately and timely
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances
• Assist with light collections activities and follow up on past-due balances
• Research and resolve short payments, deductions, and chargebacks
• Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation
• Review aging reports and help monitor outstanding receivables
• Partner with internal departments to resolve billing and payment issues
• Utilize Excel and ERP systems to manage account activity and reporting

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, Billing, or related accounting experience
• Experience posting payments and reconciling customer accounts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable speaking with customers regarding account and payment questions
• Basic Excel skills
• Experience working within an ERP system is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Islandia, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
