We take pride in providing top-quality equipment, reliable service, and exceptional customer care. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in dealership accounting and finance, with a focus on the agricultural equipment industry. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and inventory control while learning the unique financial processes of a tractor dealership. This will be a part-time internship from late Winter 2027 through Summer 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoice entry and payment posting
· Prepare and review sales documents, and purchase orders for accuracy
· Help reconcile and maintain inventory accounts
· Support monthly sales tax reporting and journal entries
· Maintain and organize financial records and invoices
· Assist with sales and parts department accounting
· Learn dealership management software such as Equip and John Deere Sales Center
· Organize and maintain accounting files and digital records
· Support special accounting projects as assigned
QualificationsQualifications:
· Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting principles
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, small-business environment
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Frederick’s son and current President, David took over in 1980 and ran the single location until 2007 when he partnered with Joel Wineland and Rodney Metzler of Wineland Equipment, another long standing John Deere Dealer to form West Central Equipment. Two years later in 2009 Scheffel Equipment in Somerset was acquired. Then four years later in 2013 we opened our Butler location. We are proud to announce that as of April of 2017 we have opened our 5th location in Ebensburg. Our 5 locations serve 18 counties in Pennsylvania, Northern Maryland and West Virginia.
