The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps organizations attract, retain, and support their employees through innovative benefits solutions. As an Account Manager, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, building trusted relationships, and helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for an assigned book of employee benefits clients
• Manage day-to-day client service activities while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of solutions
• Support annual renewals, market reviews, carrier negotiations, and marketing activities
• Lead client meetings, renewal discussions, and quarterly service reviews
• Assist with open enrollment activities, employee education materials, and enrollment meetings
• Resolve claims issues, eligibility concerns, billing discrepancies, and carrier-related service matters
• Coordinate compliance-related activities, filings, notices, and required documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and carrier partners to support client objectives and service delivery

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• Active Life and Health Insurance License required
• Minimum 3 years of employee benefits account management or client service experience
• Strong knowledge of employee benefits plans, administration, and insurance carrier processes
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering consultative service solutions
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Experience using employee benefits administration, enrollment, and CRM platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting mid-sized and large group employee benefits clients
• Knowledge of employee benefits compliance requirements and regulatory filings
• Experience conducting open enrollment meetings and employee education sessions
• Familiarity with BenefitPoint, Employee Navigator, EASE, PlanSight, Monday.com, or similar platforms
• Experience managing carrier relationships and negotiating renewal strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify opportunities for additional services and client solutions
• Experience working within an insurance brokerage or employee benefits consulting environment

Compensation

• Salary Range: $90,000–$90,000 annually

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
