Account Executive (Nationwide - Remote)

Summary

Gradient Mortgage Capital is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Account Executive to develop and manage client relationships while driving new business growth. This role is responsible for building a strong personal book of business, promoting the company’s mortgage products and services, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong prospecting skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Gradient Mortgage Capital is a wholesale mortgage banking platform specializing in Small Balance Commercial Real Estate (SBCRE) and Investor Residential DSCR lending. We work directly with mortgage brokers and bankers — not consumers — to originate business-purpose loans for real estate investors nationwide.

Our financing focuses on income-producing properties such as rental portfolios, multifamily, mixed-use, and other commercial assets. Loans are primarily underwritten based on property cash flow, deal structure, and investor experience, rather than traditional owner-occupied income qualification.

About the Role

Our Account Executives operate in a technical wholesale lending environment where success comes from becoming a trusted lending resource to mortgage brokers and bankers.

In this role, the Account Executive is expected to:

• Build and manage relationships with mortgage brokers and bankers
• Review scenarios and structure deals prior to submission
• Understand DSCR and commercial underwriting concepts (LTV, cash flow, property types)
• Educate partners on guidelines and execution strategy
• Work directly with underwriting and operations to close loans
• Generate repeat production through expertise and responsiveness

Our sales cycle is consultative and credit-driven, not transactional.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, grow, and manage a personal book of business by identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and high-quality service.
• Promote and sell the company’s mortgage programs and services within an assigned territory.
• Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve individual production goals and drive revenue growth.
• Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of opportunities.
• Accurately track and report all sales activity, pipeline updates, and client interactions in the company’s CRM system.
• Collaborate with the Vice President, Regional Sales Manager, and internal teams to align efforts and meet production objectives.
• Qualify inbound leads and prospects through phone, email, and virtual communication channels.
• Conduct outbound prospecting, including cold calling and relationship-based outreach, to generate new opportunities.
• Present company products, programs, and value propositions during virtual and in-person client meetings.
• Organize and participate in regular client meetings to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for growth.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed to expand the company’s professional network.
• Participate in weekly sales meetings and one-on-one meetings with management.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a proven ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong time-management and follow-up abilities.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and sales productivity tools.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, lending processes, and industry terminology preferred.
• Professional demeanor with strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills with experience building and scaling sales teams.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in mortgage sales, financial services sales, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline management, and achieving sales targets.
• Demonstrated success recruiting, managing, and developing sales professionals.
