Location: Remote

Compensation:  This position has a base salary of $85,000 USD annually, plus commission-based compensation, resulting in anticipated on-target earnings (OTE) of approximately $115,000–$135,000 USD.

You drive the growth of Vertosa’s client base by introducing brands of all sizes to our industry-leading emulsion technology and serve as a strategic commercial partner throughout the customer lifecycle. You are responsible for full-cycle sales, generating new business, managing existing customer relationships, expanding account revenue, and supporting long-term client success.

You are a proactive hunter with an ownership mindset who thrives on solving formulation challenges with science-backed solutions, building lasting partnerships, and helping brands successfully bring innovative products to market.

You own the primary commercial relationship from initial outreach through ongoing account growth and retention.

Role & Responsibilities

• Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients within the cannabis, hemp, and functional beverage categories.

• Prospect strategically through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, trade shows, and industry partnerships to consistently generate new business opportunities.

• Conduct high-impact discovery calls and technical presentations to understand client formulation goals, commercialization timelines, and growth objectives.

• Close new business by effectively communicating the value proposition of Vertosa’s science-first approach and differentiated technology platform.

• Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through onboarding and initial production runs.

• Develop and manage long-term relationships with existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to support their continued growth.

• Identify expansion opportunities within current accounts through new product launches, increased production volumes, and additional Vertosa solutions.

• Partner cross-functionally with Technical Sales, R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customers receive exceptional support throughout their lifecycle.

• Proactively manage customer communication, expectations, timelines, and issue resolution to drive retention and satisfaction.

• Represent Vertosa at regional industry events, conferences, and networking mixers to expand the company’s brand presence and deepen industry relationships.

• Maintain meticulous records in Hubspot to ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, account planning, and transparent communication across the organization.

• Contribute strategic market insights and customer feedback to help shape Vertosa’s commercial growth strategy.

• Ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by management or leadership, or determined by business needs.

Skills & Competencies

• 3-5 years of B2B sales experience in regulated cannabis

• Proven ability to build and manage a sales pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship development.

• Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to uncover customer needs, align solutions to business goals, and guide complex buying decisions.

• Ability to manage both new business development and ongoing account growth within a full-cycle sales environment.

• Strategic account management capabilities, including identifying expansion opportunities and supporting long-term customer growth.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for both commercial and technical audiences.

• Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities, particularly in fast-moving and highly regulated industries.

• Experience managing multiple customer relationships, priorities, and sales cycles simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• High level of ownership, accountability, and follow-through in managing customer relationships from prospecting through post-sale support.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical, operational, and leadership teams to drive customer success and internal alignment.

• Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Hubspot for pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning.

• Strong negotiation and closing skills with the ability to navigate complex commercial conversations.

• Adaptability and comfort operating in a high-growth, evolving environment where processes continue to develop.

• Ability to build credibility and trust with founders, operators, formulators, and executive stakeholders.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities.

• Passion for innovation within cannabis, hemp, functional ingredients, or beverage industries is highly preferred.
