Overview

A wonderful family in Honolulu, HI, is seeking an experienced, warm, and emotionally intelligent temporary, full-time live-in nanny to care for their two sons. Their older son is almost 3 years old, and their youngest is an infant who will be 10 months old in October. The primary focus of the position will be caring for the 2.5-year-old; however, the nanny will be responsible for both children as needed. The family values a collaborative, team-oriented approach between the nanny and parents. At times, the nanny may care for one child while the parents enjoy one-on-one time with the other; at other times, the nanny will be responsible for both children.

The general schedule will be Monday through Friday, approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some flexibility as the family’s needs change. The position includes a guaranteed 45 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will be nurturing, dependable, adaptable, and comfortable caring for two young children. The anticipated start date is as early as October 5th, with a commitment of at least one month, assuming strong performance. The engagement could potentially be extended through year-end depending on the family's needs and the nanny's availability. The family will provide relocation assistance to the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to;

• Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
• All aspects of full-charge childcare, including meal planning, prep and feeding, bathing, naptime, diapering, potty training
• Support developmental milestones
• Child-related housekeeping, laundry, toy and bottle sanitation, and organization of the child’s spaces
• Engage the child in age-appropriate play and encourage creativity and imagination
• Take to/from activities
• Engage in outdoor activities, walks, and park exploration
• Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for the children to thrive in
• Collaborate with the family to provide the best care for the children
• Incorporate educational play, reading, puzzles, arts, and music
• Travel with family as requested
• Occasionally, dog-sitting when the family is away for a few days (generally part of the regular schedule) 
• Keep parents informed about the children’s day and progress

Requirements

• 5+ years in a similar role with two young children
• Pet-friendly – Especially dogs
• Excellent judgment and safety-conscious
• Must be able to commit to the entire term 
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• CPR certified preferred
• Up-to-date vaccinations – Tdap, flu
• Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $40 per hour.
