AC243 - Full-Time Nanny - Atherton, CA

Overview

A warm, busy family in Atherton is seeking an experienced, well-rounded, and highly reliable full-time nanny to join their established household team and work collaboratively with their current full-time nanny to provide seamless childcare support.

The family has three children, ages 5–11, all of whom attend school during the day. The children are active, curious, creative, and involved in a variety of activities. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children and brings a calm, positive, and nurturing presence to the home.

This is a long-term position for someone who is looking to become an integral part of a well-run household and build a strong relationship with the children.

The general schedule will be a combination of longer and shorter shifts, currently approximately Monday and Tuesday from 6am to 7pm and Wednesday through Friday from 1pm to 7pm. The candidate might be asked to stay overnight on occasion when both parents are traveling for work. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable when schedules run a tad over due to activities.

The family believes in raising children to become kind, capable, curious, healthy, and well-rounded people. They are looking for a nanny who shares that philosophy and will take an active interest in the children's development—not simply supervise them.

This is an opportunity for an experienced nanny to become a trusted and valued member of a household team.

The family is looking to hire ASAP and is willing to relocate the right person.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

Childcare & Daily Routine

• Provide warm, attentive, and engaged care for three school-aged children.
• Manage morning routines, including waking, dressing, breakfast, lunches, and school preparation.
• Safely transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments – Nanny car provided
• Coordinate/schedule afternoon activities, sports, tutoring, lessons, and appointments.
• Encourage creative play, outdoor activities, reading, games, and age-appropriate independence.
• Support the children's development into kind, capable, confident, and well-rounded young people.
• Maintain a calm and reassuring presence, particularly when the children are overwhelmed or situations become challenging. Make transitions fun and engaging
• Travel prep
• Pack/unpack
• Travel with family domestically and internationally when requested
• Research local age-appropriate activities locally and when traveling
• Work collaboratively with co-nanny to ensure all children are fully supported

Child-Related Household & Organizational Support

Responsibilities may include:

• Tidying children's spaces and common areas after use.
• Cleaning up after breakfast and helping maintain an organized kitchen during the morning routine.
• Organizing children's belongings, clothing, school materials, and activity gear.
• Managing and organizing car seats as children grow and their needs change.
• Taking the nanny vehicle to the car wash and helping keep the vehicle organized.
• Helping prepare spaces for children's activities and lessons
• Assisting with miscellaneous family errands related to the children.
• Coordinating with other household staff as needed

Qualifications

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional nanny experience with school-aged children.
• Experience caring for multiple children
• Strong references.
• Excellent driving record and valid driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; the family provides staff with training
• College degree is a plus, but is not required
• Collaborative team player
• Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight preferred
• Trustline Certified or willing to become Trustline Certified
• Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $45+/hr commensurate with experience, PTO, a health insurance stipend, and a relocation package for those not currently residing in the Bay Area
