2nd SHIFT PC TEAM LEADER

Job Details: Job Location: Maine - Brewer, ME, Salary Range: $21.25 - $28.50Hourly, Somic America is seeking a motivated and dependable Production Control Team Leader to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting our Shipping and Receiving operations while providing daily direction, training, and coaching to Production Control team members.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and ready to take an active leadership role in keeping materials and customer shipments moving safely and accurately.

What You’ll Do

Lead and support Shipping and Receiving team members.
Assign and coordinate daily work across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
Stage and verify customer shipments.
Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials.
Print customer orders, labels, and required shipping documentation.
Ensure inbound and outbound materials are handled and stored safely and accurately.
Train employees on Shipping and Receiving processes and standardized work.
Conduct daily communication meetings with team members.
Coach employees on job performance and help resolve day-to-day issues.
Support forklift, crane, and scale training, including hands-on forklift training for new operators.
Use the ERP system, scanners, and tablets to support Shipping and Receiving activities.
Identify and properly contain suspect or non-conforming material.
Conduct weekly rack inspections and help ensure forklifts are safe for operation.
Promote and enforce company safety and 5S standards.
Support kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
Participate in and help lead planned material inventories.
Communicate material shortages, shipping delays, and manufacturing concerns to the appropriate support teams.
Maintain necessary Shipping and Receiving supplies.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or GED required.
Shipping, Receiving, Production Control, Warehouse, or Material Handling experience preferred.
Experience with ERP or similar inventory/material scheduling systems preferred.
Familiarity with material processes, equipment, and inventory organization preferred.
Leadership or team lead experience is a plus.
Ability to train, coach, and provide direction to others.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other support departments.

Physical Requirements

This is an active manufacturing position that requires regular standing, walking, reaching, and material handling. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
