As an intern in our Southeast Region, you'll gain hands-on experience in civil construction, building construction, or estimating while contributing to real projects across Florida. Our internship program is designed as a pathway to a full-time career, and top-performing interns will be considered for Field Engineer opportunities after graduation.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Field Engineer Intern - Civil | Miami, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers & Vero Beach

• Support daily site operations alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and Engineers.
• Inspect materials, coordinate deliveries, and support quality and compliance.
• Assist with schedules, RFIs, cost tracking, and project documentation.
• Participate in safety walkthroughs and uphold OHLA protocols.
• Gain exposure to roadway construction, traffic control, and paving.

Field Engineer Intern - Building | Miami

• Support daily field operations on vertical building projects, including healthcare, education, and residential facilities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, manage deliveries, and support quality and compliance.
• Assist with schedule updates, submittals, RFIs, and documentation.
• Participate in safety protocols relevant to building construction environments.
• Gain exposure to general contracting and design-build processes.

Estimating Intern | Miami, supporting the Southeast Region

• Assist with bid preparation, takeoffs, and cost analysis across civil and building scopes.
• Review drawings and specifications and organize vendor quotes.
• Support historical cost tracking, bid summaries, and DOT/platform submissions.
• Gain exposure to estimating software and industry standards.

Qualifications

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Eager, proactive, and ready to learn in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Organized and communicative, with strong time-management skills.
• Interested in building a long-term career in heavy civil, building construction, or estimating.
• Construction terminology experience is a plus but not required - we'll teach you.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Summer: June 1 - August 6, 2027 | Fall and Spring opportunities: rolling.
• Roles: Civil Field Engineering | Building Field Engineering | Estimating.
• Locations: Miami | West Palm Beach | Fort Myers | Vero Beach.
• Pay: $18/hr (Bachelor's) | $20/hr (Master's).
• Path to Full-Time: Top-performing interns are evaluated for full-time Field Engineer roles after graduation. Seniors are encouraged to apply.
• Housing is not provided.
