2027 Summer Intern, Pricing Associate (Reston, VA or Remote)

ICF is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pricing Associate Intern to join our Corporate Pricing Team. In this role, you’ll learn to develop accurate, compliant, and competitive pricing solutions that support ICF’s proposals and contribute to meaningful client outcomes. You will work with members of the pricing department, operations teams, capture managers, contracts, finance, and proposal professionals to analyze solicitation requirements, support and build pricing models, and help prepare cost and business proposals for federal, state, local, and commercial clients. 

Our summer internship is full-time for 10-weeks beginning in early June and ending in early August. Work may be hybrid from Reston, VA or performed from any U.S. location. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.   

This is a strong opportunity for a candidate who is interested in growing in pricing, finance, cost analysis, and government contracting. You’ll gain exposure to the full proposal lifecycle, learn from experienced pricing professionals, and build skills in financial analysis, compliance, collaboration, and business strategy. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Support the development of timely, accurate, and compliant cost and business proposals that help ICF compete effectively and deliver strong value to clients. 

• Review requests for proposals and related documents to identify pricing requirements, evaluation criteria, submission instructions, compliance considerations, and key assumptions. 

• Assist in building, maintaining, and quality-checking pricing models, including labor, other direct costs, travel, subcontractor costs, indirect rates, fees, and escalation assumptions. 

• Collect, organize, and analyze cost inputs from operations, subcontractors, finance, contracts, and other stakeholders to support complete, clear, and defensible pricing submissions. 

• Document pricing assumptions, methodologies, and supporting rationale so proposal teams and reviewers can easily understand how pricing aligns with the proposed technical approach. 

• Participate in pricing strategy discussions, proposal reviews, color team reviews, and internal approval processes by preparing analyses and responding to reviewer feedback. 

• Prepare financial analyses, scenario comparisons, and pricing summaries that help proposal teams evaluate competitiveness, profitability, and risk. 

• Contribute ideas to improve pricing templates, tools, quality controls, and processes that support consistency, compliance, and efficiency across proposals. 

Basic Qualifications 

• By start date at least 15 completed credit hours in Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management, Supply Chain Management or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data organization, workbook review, and the ability to learn and work with detailed pricing models. 

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately with financial, operational, and proposal data. 

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize assumptions, analyses, and recommendations for different audiences. 

• Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines. 

• Interest in cost estimation, pricing, financial analysis, business operations, government consulting, or government contracting.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$37,855.00 - $64,354.00
