About the Role:
The 2027 Summer Internship in Mechanical Engineering offers an immersive opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers to support projects that enhance energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality across various building types. This role is designed to develop technical expertise in HVAC system components, controls, and sustainable practices while fostering problem-solving and project management skills. Interns will contribute to real-world engineering challenges, including system modeling, equipment selection, and performance evaluation. By the end of the internship, candidates will have a comprehensive understanding of HVAC engineering principles and practical experience that will prepare them for a successful career in the industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
- Familiarity with HVAC concepts and terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HVAC design software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Knowledge of energy modeling tools and building codes related to HVAC systems.
- Previous internship or project experience in HVAC engineering or building systems.
- Ability to analyze data and apply engineering judgment to solve practical problems.

- Conduct load calculations and system performance analyses to optimize HVAC designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate HVAC solutions into building projects.
