Summer 2027 - Building Performance Engineering Internship Opportunity at HGA!

Location: Madison, WI

Begin to build your future at HGA! We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student for a paid summer internship in summer of 2027. The summer internship is typically 12 weeks in length beginning on or before June 1, 2027, through mid-August (depending on your schedule).

What you'll do:

As a Building Performance Engineering Intern, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of engineering experiences, including:

• Assist with the preparation of engineering designs and construction documents under the guidance of licensed professionals.
• Support the project team by performing basic engineering calculations and technical analysis.
• Help research applicable building codes, standards, and regulations for project assignments.
• Review reports, drawings, test results, and other project information to support planning and design activities.
• Gain experience using Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software tools to develop project deliverables.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members in a team-oriented environment.
• Participate in project meetings and learn about the design and construction process.
• Have opportunities to visit construction sites to observe field conditions and gain firsthand exposure to project implementation.

What you'll bring:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering  from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a desire to learn in a collaborative environment.
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Hourly Rate: $24.00/hour - $25/hour (Mid-West).
