• This position is in Jacksonville, FL 
• Summer 2027 for 11 weeks 
• Intern housing is provided near the St. Johns Town Center and less than 10 miles from the beach! 

What can an Actuarial Intern at Florida Blue expect? 

• Own real, high-impact projects — Conduct research and analyses that directly inform strategic decisions and drive meaningful outcomes across Florida Blue departments 
• Understand actuarial impact at scale — Gain insight into the full spectrum of actuarial work and see firsthand how your contributions directly impact the health and well-being of our members 
• Learn from a dedicated mentor — Work closely with an assigned manager who provides guidance and support as you navigate a dynamic environment 
• Build cross-functional knowledge — Connect with colleagues across actuarial teams to broaden your understanding of the department and profession 
• Showcase your work — Gain valuable presentation experience by presenting your summer project and findings to the entire actuarial department 

Required Skills: 

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student and not graduating before the Fall 2027 semester 
• Cumulative 3.0 or better GPA 
• Basic PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

Preferred Skills/Experience 

• Previous project experience or health care related work 
• Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with others 
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, VBA, etc.) 
• Time management 
• Cumulative 3.2 or better GPA 
• Detail-oriented

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases. 

Typical Hourly Pay Range: $26 - $30

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
