JOB SUMMARY

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service during banquet events, ensuring guests have a memorable experience. This role involves setting up, serving, and breaking down events while maintaining high standards of hospitality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

Operational Responsibilities

Set up banquet rooms according to BEO event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms after events.

Guest Services

Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring their satisfaction.
Handle guest complaints professionally and efficiently, resolving issues to maintain a positive experience.
Provide assistance with special accommodations and requests as needed.

Team Support

Work collaboratively with other banquet staff to ensure smooth event execution.
Assist in training new banquet servers on service standards and procedures.
Support team performance by maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment.
Ensure compliance with Valencia Hotel policies and industry standards.

Communication and Reporting

Communicate effectively with the Banquet Manager and other team members to ensure event success.
Report any issues or concerns promptly to management.
Maintain accurate records of service and inventory as required.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure a safe environment for guests and staff by following hotel safety policies.
Comply with all industry regulations and standards.
Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.

Qualifications: ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective time management and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
Previous experience in hospitality or banquet service preferred
Certification for TABC & Texas Food Handlers

Physical Requirements

Sitting: Occasional
Standing/Walking: Frequent, including during event setup and service
Lifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs, including banquet equipment and supplies
Other Physical Requirements: Frequent handling, grasping, and crouching

Working Environment

Interior: Banquet halls, kitchens, and other event spaces within the hotel
Exterior: Occasional outdoor events, exposure to various weather conditions
