As a result of the ongoing US-Israel war against Iran, fuel prices have skyrocketed across the world. In April 2026, US gasoline pump prices increased to over $4 a gallon.
While a huge portion of Americans have been hit by the increase in gas prices, rideshare and delivery drivers are in a particularly tricky position. Millions of Americans rely on ridesharing or delivery driving for Uber, DoorDash, or one of the many other popular apps as either full-time gigs or side hustles.
As a result of the increases in fuel prices, some rideshare and delivery drivers are debating whether it’s even worth it anymore. Others are trying to adapt to the challenges.
